Grandad Steven Coulson says he is "heartbroken" after thieves sped off in his car – with his beloved dog on the back seat.
Bailey, a seven-year-old Irish Staffordshire bull terrier, was in the back of Mr Coulson's Ford Fiesta when it was snatched from Grisedale Court, in Chilwell.
The family fear the pet may have been thrown out in the cold once the criminals realised they were carrying an extra passenger.
