Knife killer Jonathan Jones refused to attend court to hear of his 21-year life term and the grief he inflicted on his victim's family on Thursday.
He killed 43-year-old John Parker by stabbing him once in the neck in St Ann's on Sunday May 31 - and then tried to cover his tracks.
Judge Stuart Rafferty QC said Jones had shown "cynicism upon cynicism" in trying to evade justice by framing a friend and terrifying a woman into hiding the murder weapon and his jacket.
